Brand Identity and Art Direction
Established in 2011, Brooklyn Cloth takes inspiration from New York City to develop collections sold to boutiques, big box retailers like The Buckle, JCPenney, TJMaxx, Urban Outfitters and on their own ecommerce platform. The brand’s mission is to design and create innovation by mash up of fabric, textures and patterns. Brooklyn Cloth has three diffusion lines BKLYN Athletics, Brooklyn Cloth Women's and Brooklyn Surf.
Identity Development
Started by sketching out my ideas for logos focused on different popular abbreviations for Brooklyn, craftsmanship, heritage, athletics, and recognizable landmarks.
BKLYN ATHLETICS
Brand Identity needed to inspired by the people and athletics of the borough. Inspiring to refine, condition and train for the city dwellers whose lifestyle is active, functional and adventurous.
Taking inspiration from the Lenapé, a tribe of Native Americans whom lived in Brooklyn.
The name Lenapé in the Algonkian or Lenni language means “the people.” Since the time of the Lenapé, Brooklyn has become home to many people and cultures; the name Brooklyn is synonym with strength and perseverance. The trademark composed of multiple faces also reflects the multicultural aspects of Brooklyn and hints the steps required in order to self improve.
